We appreciate your interest in helping LAYHA be the best and safest hockey association around.
Per USA Hockey Regulations, any person who wishes to Coach OR be On-Ice, must obtain a USA Hockey Number, pass the Background Check, the Coach Safe Sport Training, and be current on all age appropriate Coaching Modules.
IMPORTANT: LAYHA and USA Hockey do not allow anyone other than Players, Coaches and Officials on-ice. There is no exception.
If you are interested in Off-Ice Volunteering and would like to help in other areas, please refer to the Volunteer Registration.
LAYHA has the backing of terrific resources to help our kids build positive experiences through hockey. USA Hockey provides the mandatory Safe Sport Training, adopted by the US Olympics and all USA Hockey sanctioned sports. LAYHA will reimburse coaches for the required Background Check, Coaching Clinic and Age Appropriate Coaching Modules. Coaches are responsible to stay current.
All Coaches/Assistants/Helpers must register for a USA Hockey number every year, and complete the other steps as needed. It is your responsibility to stay current and we can help you through the process.
IMPORTANT: Coaches who do not have or are missing one of these requirements will be Redlined by USA Hockey and cannot participate in ANY activity until cleared. For transparency, all Rosters will now be posted on the Vermont State Amateur Hockey Association (VSAHA) website.
