Hello LAYHA Families,

This weekend our 10U through 14U teams will be heading off to their first weekend of tournament play. We hope all our players, coaches and families have a successful and, most importantly, fun time.

Please remember to be respectful, kind and courteous, and to show good sportsmanship when visiting or hosting teams and officials. You are all ambassadors for LAYHA and the Northeast Kingdom. Please put your best foot forward both on and off the ice, including in the locker rooms and hotels.

Parents and coaches should keep in mind that during tournament play only one designated parent per team is allowed in the locker room. Use of cell phones in locker rooms is not allowed. Players are also reminded to show up for games dressed in a base layer.

Other important details to keep in mind:

- Tournament merchandise will be available online this year. If interested, please visit https://store.finedesigns.com/newengland/2019-vermont-state-tournament-1.html

- All playdown locations require attendees to pay a nominal entrance fee (coaches and players get free entrance).

- The state association is maintaining a website to post tournament game results and standings. You can find it at https://www.vermonthockey.org/2019states

Tournament Schedule

14U will be playing a round robin format in St. Albans.

12U will be playing a round robin format in Manchester.

10U T3 will be playing a round robin format in Middlebury.

10U T4 - LAYHA – Fenton Chester has the privilege of hosting this year’s 10U T4 playdown weekend. The games will run Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., and Sunday from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The LAYHA 10U Tier 4 team plays in Pool B: Saturday at 8:30 a.m. vs. Burlington; Saturday at 3:10 p.m. vs. South Burlington Red and Sunday at 9:40 a.m. vs. St. Albans Gold.

If you will not be at one of the other tournament locations this weekend consider attending some of the 10U games at Fenton Chester, they should prove to be exciting.

All our teams are hoping to advance from this weekend’s round robin stage to the semifinals, which will be held Feb. 16.

Good luck to all our players and coaches this weekend.
